Winter Stops Here?

It was finally nice out yesterday! It reached the mid 50s and didn’t even need a coat during my walk (naturally this means nature must crush my hopes of spring by returning us to the freezer today).  But I enjoyed it while it lasted and maybe spring is on the horizon.

While I was out and about, I saw this bright red stop sign reflected in a puddle.  The bright red really caught my eye against the brown landscape.  I liked it even more once I desaturated all the color channels but red.  Using the color channels is one of my new Lightroom discoveries that I’ve been playing with.

Here’s a close-up of the stop sign that I liked after a bit of editing. It is covered with or made with some sort of reflective mesh that gives it a lot more texture than you think when looking at it far away.
